A ₹200 crore heritage restoration of Swami Vivekananda's ancestral residence, led by the Ramakrishna Mission with the Archaeological Survey of India and Development Consultants Pvt. Ltd. The aim was to restore the structure faithfully, using same-kind materials including specially matched bricks. J.C. Chakraborty & Sons handled sanctioning, approvals, project management and coordination — free of cost.
Twelve surrounding houses were acquired for the initiative: tenants had to be accommodated, local vendors temporarily relocated, and the work had to proceed without stripping the site of its original character.
Drawing and design were handled by DCL (Development Consultants Pvt. Ltd.), while J.C. Chakraborty & Sons was responsible for sanctioning, approvals, project management and coordination. The Archaeological Survey of India was involved.
Same-kind materials, including specially matched bricks and circular brick forms, allowed the structure to be restored faithfully. This was matched-brick restoration. Under Partha Maharaj's leadership, the Ramakrishna Mission arranged accommodation for displaced tenants at Muraripukur. JCC's work was carried out free of cost over approximately 1.5 to 2 years.
